Dialogues on Paper

This series of monotypes is inspired by drawings that I did of an old ceiling vent that had been flattened and run over by many cars.  Initial black and white drawings led me to a motif.  It spoke to me.  It had a personality.  It became more organic.  Sometimes the shape seemed like a lily pad, sometimes a uterus, other times a family of bean people.  Multiples communicated with each other.  Sometimes in a loving way, other times, angry, sad, wistful.  I had fun working with these characters!
