New Work

My current work is an exploration of layers and patterns.  Every piece includes at least one ladder, although it is often obscured behind paint or collage.  I switch between working on wood panels and on paper.  Wood lets me use a rotary sander to excavate into old layers.  I sometimes employ new tools to apply paint – knives, scrapers, rollers, chopsticks.  My goal is to make work that is dreamlike with an air of mystery, that a viewer can look at many times and still see something new.
